The Evolution Of TCRA

I have been going through some of my old posts recently and I noticed two things, the first being, I have a lot of posts entitled part 1 of something, but there are no part 2’s. This tells me something, I need to finish what I sta… The second thing I noticed is that I have evolved so much over the past couple of years here on this blog. Everything has changed, from my writing style, to what I write about, to how this site looks. I like what this has turned into, it has it’s ups and downs, I like the ups best. Thank you guys for sticking around for so long, it is great to see familiar faces around here. So let’s see how I have changed.

Style

When I first started writing on a blog, I wrote essays. Everything was informative, no discussion. I wrote things like “Who is Jesus and why does it matter?”, it was stuff I was interested in but it didn’t really leave room for comments. I slowly learned to discuss this with you guys, while still stating my opinion I talked toat you. This has turned into more freestyle writing, I like it better this way. I am more honest and open.

Topics

Like I said before I used to write just essays, and it was either politics or religion… boring. But seriously, while I liked those topics it didn’t leave room for me to grow, I was stuck. So I switched things up, thanks to a conversation I had with my brother I switched gears and transformed this into a personal blog. The great thing about that is I get to still write about politics and religion, but I don’t have to stick with that. Politics and religion are just part of who I am. I am also a husband, a son, a brother, a floor installer, a graphic designer. All of these make up who I am, and I want to share that with you, all of it.

Looks

Talking about a change, I wish I had screen shots of all the designs I had for this site, I have been all over the place. Dark, light, grunge, minimalist, I think I settled with the minimalist feel. In fact the design I am working on right now is a cool minimalist feeling theme. I can’t wait until it is finished, because when that is finished I can work on a theme I will release for download. I started out not knowing a lick of CSS let a lone what it stands for, and now I am modifying themes left and right, I love it. I had always dreamed of doing this, and here I am.

I have changed so much here, and I never want to stop. The day I stop changing and learning how to change is the day it all gets boring. That is one reason I use that tag line “i am still learning”, I want to remind myself to keep evolving. I can’t let myself get boring, so thanks for sticking with me through this evolution, you guys ROCK!

If this page looks a little weird that means you're using IE, why not download Firefox or Opera? You'll be glad you did.

You have come some way in the time that I’ve known you and to be fair I haven’t known you for years! It has got better and better since I first began reading the blog, but you can probably see that I believe that as I continue to come back :-P .

The good thing about this blog is that I will also want to read it and will always find it interesting as all of the things you discuss are relevant to me in a way and I usually will be interested in the subject. That isn’t the case for all blogs… I suppose I’m lucky that you just happen to discuss the types of things that I’m interested in.

Anyway, with regards the look, you always have a good design and I can’t wait for your new one! It’s sure to be a huge success.

Thanks guys, I really have had a blast with molding this site.

DP: yes you do rock, and that’s what matters the most!

Aidan: Yeah, I try to write about thing that everyone cares about, things that effect everyone… except when I write about design.
