Favorite Book O’ The Good Book: a meme
Man, I go just about a year without being tagged with a meme and then POW, I get bombarded with the crazy things… well maybe just two… this being the second. I was tagged by Sonja over at Calacirian, and the meme is as follows, ahem, you ready? What is your favorite book of the Bible? What, that’s it?! There is no follow up question, no explain why? Well, ok, Acts.
Ok, I will explain why anyway. I have been reading and re-reading Acts for the past month or so, and God keeps revealing new things to me about the early church and the passion the believers had back then. They would go into cities and bring a few people to Christ only to be stoned and run out of the city by angry mobs. After they were run out they did the craziest thing, they walked right back it to follow up on the new believers. Who in their right mind would do that? They had an extreme passion for the Lord that I long to experience for myself. They had the courage to walk into the synagogues and prove through the scriptures that Jesus is the savior. They longed to see everyone come to see the Lord. Where has that passion gone? Why are we content with sitting in the pews being “comfortable”? The book of Acts inspires me to be the Christian God called me to be.
